Mind the Gap!

The traditional view of performance management tends to have a focus on Management by Objectives, Behavioural Competency Models, and Appraisal sessions. Development is typically thrown in as an afterthought.

Organisations are often replete with measurement techniques, from 360 degree assessment to extensive use of psychometrics. Unfortunately, all too often, while we are good at measuring the shortfall, we are often very poor on the development front.

We take a "total" view of performance management, which recognises the interdependent nature of numerous aspects of the organisation.

Its about creating a culture which facilitates and sustains development as a key value as opposed to inhibiting development because of a short term view.
